Complimentary breakfast at the hotel - yum Greek yogurt! Explored the beaches of Paros to find the right one - Mom had already done lots of research for us. It was nice to be able to drive around the island so easily due to its small size. Stopped to look at these crazy rock formations that Mom had read about, but it was a small beach so we left after some good photo ops.
Ended up at a beach called Chrissi Akti, which means Golden Sun. Found our own little spot to lay out our towels - nice and quiet, gorgeous and the sand was so fine that we didn't need to wear sandals in the water.
Got to work building a sand castle and then had Lauren and Mom bury me. It was so hot out that I was constantly in the water (awesome).
Stopped into a town after the beach - maybe Pisa Livadi, but not sure. Walked around a bit and saw a common Greek practice at many of the restaurants, which is hanging octopi to dry on the clothesline...eek!
Out of nowhere I started breaking out into this crazy heat rash so I wasn't feeling too well - really bad headache and totally out of it; Mom was thinking of taking me to the hospital. Headed back toward Naussa and my skin calmed down after being in the shade (the gelato didn't hurt either).
Walked around the fishing boats and out onto this little stone fort. Saw the waiter from the night before (what are the odds?) and quickly avoided any communication.
Went back to the hotel and Maria had left us a complimentary plate of fruit in our room - she is too good and it was a perfect treat after the beach that's for sure. Decided it was pool time - not a huge pool so I couldn't believe how deep it was when I jumped in! Lauren and I had the pool to ourselves which was even better. We read in the chaise lounges as we alternated showering before going to the town of Lefkes for dinner.
Before scoping out a restaurant, we walked down to this large Russian-style church. The town was very quiet. We were definitely sticking out as tourists because there weren't many to be seen at this time.
Lefkes was a very cute town - Mom and Dad had stayed here on a whim when they came to Paros. They weren't on the water, but they were located up on a hill, which must've given them a cool alternative perspective of the island.
Not sure of the restaurant we ended up at, but it was very good. Meatball and rice in lemon and something else soup for me. Thought Mom was getting yellow lentil soup, but it was more like the fava spread - just mashed yellow lentil to put on bread, still delicious. Spinach pie for Luaren. Decided to share the rest...GIANT BEANS! Lauren didn't like the dill on the beans, but we also had pork off the spit which was a little too fatty for my liking. Brownie with icecream and a very soggy yogurt pie with icecream for dessert. Complimentary shots of ouzo afterwards of course. ICK! I took mine while Mom and Lauren pretended.
