Slept through breakfast because my phone alarm didn't go off - woops! Packed for our next leg of the trip - GREECE. Stopped at an ATM and then a pharmacy for some hydrocortizone for possible poison-something that Mom has on her foot from Cinque Terre. Walked around a little and stopped into S.S. Anunziato basilica (gorgeous). Explored some back streets then ended up near the hotel again.
Sat for our last lunch in Firenze at a place that Roberto had recommended - Trattoria di Tito. Mom had homemade spaghetti with cherry tomatoes and ricotta cheese. I had homemade spaghetti with porcini mushrooms. Both just had oil on them and both were delicious. So fresh.
Went back to the hotel and had planned on taking a cab to the airport, but Roberto offered to drive us himself! Talk about service. Flight delayed to Munich...looks like we won't be making the connecting flight to Athens. The flight from Florence ended up being delayed an hour and a half. We hoped that the flight from Munich to Athens was delayed as well, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. We were going to get into Athens late anyways so it wasn't like were were losing a day thankfully.
Lufthansa put us up for the night in Munich with dinner and breakfast included - not too shabby. The Sheraton was very nice and German with its wooden doors and buffet selection. Seemed pretty new. There was a German family of 12 that had to stay in the Sheraton, too (grandparents, three parents and seven kids) - very entertaining to watch. Made me think of Nan and Pops with their six. We had our dinner and dessert after talking to Dad to let him know the deal. Who would've known there'd be more to our adventures!
