Dad Comes Through!

Dad's arriving in London today from Hong Kong! Made my way over to the same hotel that he and Mom had stayed in earlier this semester, right on the Thames. Can't believe he's been away since I last saw him in Germany. Great to see him as always. We walked (his leg is drastically different from last time he was in London!) to the Imperial War Museum, but first found a restaurant called the Fire House for lunch. Dad said they were the best fish and chips he'd ever had! Falafel burger for me :)
Dad had been to the IWM before, but he wanted to show me and I was up for it seeing that there's still so much in London that I have yet to see. The museum was huge. So cool that museums in London are free so you don't feel obligated to do it all in one visit. Tons of airplanes and tanks. Spent some time in the Second World War and walked through a recreated trench, pretty creepy. Then we went to the Holocaust Exhibition. Very depressing.
After that we went back to the hotel and took a nap before dinner. We made reservations at an Italian place called Donna Margherita in Clapham not realizing how far away it was from the hotel (but definitely worth the cab ride). We wanted a place where the locals went and this was it. At times I forgot where we were because there were more people speaking Italian than English! Had an awesome dinner (and dessert for me of course!).
